In most cases, you don't need to be home. However, we do need access to your sprinkler controller, especially if we're working on anything electrical or replacing components like the controller, rain sensor, or freeze sensor. As long as we can access the controller and your system, we're good to go. Many of our customers provide gate codes or leave controllers accessible and let us handle the rest.

We recommend a minimum of twice per year: a spring start-up and fall winterization. However, quarterly maintenance (every season) is ideal because your lawn and plants have different watering needs throughout the year as temperatures and weather conditions change. Regular seasonal maintenance keeps your system running efficiently and helps prevent costly repairs.

A lateral line leak only occurs when your system is running, specifically when that particular zone is active. Lateral lines are the smaller PVC pipes in the ground that deliver water to individual zones. These leaks can usually be isolated by shutting down that specific zone until repairs are made. A main line leak is more serious. It leaks 24/7 because the main line is constantly pressurized. You won't be able to run your system properly until it's repaired. Main line repairs are typically more complex since the main line is a larger pipe and a critical component that supplies water to your entire system.

A master valve is a safety valve installed on your main water line that controls water flow to your entire sprinkler system. It's wired to your controller and only opens when a zone is activated, then closes when the zone cycle ends. This provides an extra layer of protection against leaks. If a valve fails or a pipe breaks, the master valve prevents water from continuously flowing. It also helps with water conservation and can prevent costly damage from undetected system failures.

We stand behind our work with a 1-year labor warranty on all repairs. If you experience any issues related to our repair work within one year of service, we'll take care of it at no additional labor cost.

There are several telltale signs of a leak. The easiest check is to look at your water meter when nothing in the house or yard is running. If the dial is spinning, you likely have a main line leak. Other signs include soggy or muddy areas in your yard, sections of grass that are overgrown or unusually green compared to surrounding areas, visible standing water, or an unexpectedly high water bill. If you notice any of these signs, give us a call for an inspection.
